Since the late 2000’s and early 2010’s, French Montana has been one of hip hop’s underrated gems when it comes to the music overall. He’s one of those artists that gets overlooked quite often but this is almost disrespectful to one the few artists whose name should always be included in the mixtape catalog debates. There is no secret that the Coke Boyz front-man is a certified hitmaker, whose proven himself for years and will continue to years to come. With Thanksgiving and Christmas around the corner, French picked the perfect time to remind the naysayers what he’s always been capable of. Today (Nov. 19), he delivers his new They Got Amnesia album.

The Grammy-nominated rapper has been demanding respect ever since fans were poking fun at his alleged lack of solo hit songs. Someone created a meme asking fans to name several French Montana solo hits, and many said they couldn’t since they believe French is a better features artist. French attempted to dispel those feelings with an extensive Twitter rant aimed at all the accomplishments he’s garnered over his career, such as listing his actual solo hits and taking credit for artists such as Lil Durk and the late Chinx. Despite speaking on his truths, fans were split in their reactions to his claims, with many feeling he was right and others feeling he wasn’t.

Along with his Twitter rant, French Montana proved how serious he was dropping the first two singles off the album. French dropped the song and visual for “I Don’t Really Care” before coming back and unleashing “Panicking” featuring Fivio Foreign a week later.

Equipped with 20 records in total, French Montana tapped on a number of his peers for features including Drake, Rick Ross, John Legend, Doja Cat, Saweetie, Fabolous, and more. He even has a posthumous Pop Smoke verse on “Stuck In The Jungle” with Lil Durk.
