New RSLC-WA PAC Poll: Republicans Within Striking Distance on State Legislative Generic Ballot in Deep Blue Washington State

Washington D.C.— The Republican State Leadership Committee - Washington PAC (RSLC-WA PAC)  today released results from an extensive statewide survey done in Washington state that shows state Republicans are within striking distance on the legislative generic ballot ahead of November, as Olympia Democrats are being dragged down by President Biden and their failure to adequately address the rising cost of living as well as skyrocketing crime in the state.

The new survey conducted by Cygnal survey found:

  • Republicans are within two points on the state legislative generic ballot (46%-48%).

  • Elected Democrats in the state Legislature are under water by 7 points (42%-49%).

  • President Biden has a dismal image rating of 43%-55%.

    • Only 45% of those surveyed want the Legislature to support Biden’s agenda, while 48% want the Legislature to enact opposite policies to push back on the President.

  • The top issues Washingtonians want their state government to focus on are addressing the cost of living (25%) as well as combatting violent crime and increasing public safety (19%).

  • The liberal agenda Democrats in Olympia have pursued is deeply unpopular with voters.

    • Washingtonians are 64% less likely to vote for a state legislative candidate who voted for a tax increase that was later ruled unconstitutional.

    • Washingtonians are 63% less likely to vote for a state legislative candidate who voted for legislation that law enforcement leaders say “could put the public and police officers in jeopardy.”

“Under Democratic control, Washington state has become a hotbed for violent crime and one of the nation’s most expensive states to live,” said RSLC- WA PAC Deputy Communications Director Mason Di Palma. “Instead of finding ways to bring down the cost of living and make their streets safer, Democrats in Olympia are in lockstep with a failing president whose policies continue to destroy Washington’s economy and make it more dangerous. Republicans are building momentum in Washington and will be holding Democrats accountable on their failed record all the way to Election Day.”
