Das Achental began in the 1950s as a horse farm before being converted to a sports hotel in the 1980s. Executive Chef Edip Sigl, who earned two Michelin stars while working at the best restaurants in Germany and another two at Das Achental, creates dishes that call to mind pieces of art, each enriched by flavors borne from partnerships with local farmers and augmented by sophisticated sauces. Sigl and team conjure up such exciting specialties as Chiemsee whitefish on tomato kombucha and saddle of venison from area hunters on raisin sauce. Casual culinary moments can be had at the hotel’s White Stag restaurant, while Bavarian delicacies can be enjoyed at the Hubertushütte.
