Inspiring Stories

Last Labor Day, the Department of Labor invited people across the nation to submit the names and stories of essential workers who helped or inspired them during the pandemic. Browse some examples of these inspiring stories below.

They understood the pickup had a strict window and that it was an important delivery that would be used to save lives
She has never stopped working during the pandemic taking care of me. She is my homecare provider
providing much-needed nourishment and support to children at a time when their parents were being furloughed or laid off
The coronavirus pandemic has made her job especially difficult, not to mention dangerous, frustrating, and emotionally taxing
