Brynn Elliott is graduating from Harvard this week, and she has even more to celebrate with the release of her latest single “Time Of Our Lives.”
The song arrives as the first release from a label deal between Atlantic Records and the Nashville-based Big Yellow Dog Music, with Elliott also standing as their first joint signee. Along with the mainstream music powerhouse that comprises Atlantic’s roster, Elliott’s pop sensibilities and determined work ethic fit ably with Big Yellow Dog’s most impressive artists including Maren Morris and Meghan Trainor.
“Time Of Our Lives” serves as a poetic bookend to Elliott’s experience at Harvard as its development spanned nearly her entire senior year, and includes reflective sentiments perfect for the post-grad sendoff.
“My friends and I had been having so many conversations about the future, trying to figure out next steps for our lives,” Elliot tells Billboard. “We were terrified of what would lie ahead. I wrote this song as encouragement and as a reminder to stay present and enjoy the moment.”
The opening notes of “Time” create an atmospheric aura cut by an invigorating, propulsive beat that is reminiscent of the burgeoning space-pop sound utilized by the likes of Kacey Musgraves and Tame Impala. Elliott commands the production with a passionate delivery and thoughtful lyrics that pull from the philosophy major’s studies.

“Studying philosophy has helped me become a better songwriter,” Elliot says. “When I wrote ‘Time of Our Lives’ I was inspired by the notion that when life gets crazy, or scary, there is power in taking a moment to look around, be grateful and embrace every moment even if the future is uncertain.”
With the backing of an elite partnership and a wealth of creativity and confidence, the next step for Elliott as an artist seems firmly certain.
