Deb and Jesse, Hoosier couple and long-time Red Cross volunteers, have supported numerous disaster relief missions, including almost every hurricane to hit the U.S. since 2010. This week, they donned their Red Cross vests once again and left Indiana in a fully-stocked emergency response vehicle—determined to support victims of Hurricane Florence as it plummets toward the U.S. coastline. Deb and Jesse will work side-by-side, providing meals, supplies, and comfort to those in crisis.
Wednesday night, 6,700 people stayed in 127 Red Cross and community shelters across South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia. The Red Cross has mobilized about 80 emergency response vehicles and more than 120 trailers of equipment and relief supplies to support relief efforts.
