Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society

The Edinburgh Festival Fringe is one of the greatest celebrations of arts and culture on the planet.

For three weeks in August, the city of Edinburgh welcomes an explosion of creative energy from around the globe.

Artists and performers take to hundreds of stages all over the city to present shows for every taste. From big names in the world of entertainment to unknown artists looking to build their careers, the festival caters for everyone and includes theatre, comedy, dance, physical theatre, circus, cabaret, children's shows, musicals, opera, music, spoken word, exhibitions and events.

The Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society was founded by artists to nurture and uphold the Fringe's values of inclusivity, experimentation and imagination.

The founding principle at the heart of the Fringe is to be an open access festival that accommodates anyone with a desire to perform and a venue willing to host them.

We work with SmartyGrants on various tools to help us deliver projects for the Fringe community, including administration of the Keep It Fringe Fund (currently closed for applications) and for managing the Make An Impact project.
