Tennessee Bureau of Investigation

“That Guilt Shall Not Escape Nor Innocence Suffer”

July 13, 2020 – June 2023

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has existed in various forms since the 1950s, yet many Tennesseans may not realize all the important work they do on a daily basis.

With seven offices state-wide, over 600 employees and eight divisions, TBI supports law enforcement across Tennessee with additional resources and specialized skills. At any given time, their Criminal Investigation Division has over 1,000 open cases, and conducts its own independent investigations including child victimization, drug violations, domestic terrorism and fugitive recovery.

Alcatraz East has teamed up with TBI to delve into the history of some of the Bureau’s most famous cases and to shine a light on all the important work their highly trained agents, forensic examiners, and specialists do to keep Tennessee safe. This exhibit will also bring attention to a local cold case and current missing children cases.
