Krista Franco

Associate Professor of Theatre Arts

Theatre, at its core, is an exploration of self, environment and situation. It provides a lens through which to view the world and a vehicle to deliver voices & ideals to a wide audience. It is a collaborative art that is at its most vibrant when story and interpretation join to lift the human spirit. It is a home for differing perspectives, challenging subject matter, and narratives of both joy and pain. Theatre provides a space to make choices that result in successes and failures; while giving us a mirror to examine and learn from them. This mindset is how I approach my teaching, my mentorship and my professional pursuits.
