About the Author

Dan Pegram is a retired United States Air Force lieutenant colonel and command pilot who flew the KC-135 aerial refueling aircraft. After his retirement from the Air Force, Dan worked at Southwest Airlines, where he served as a Boeing 737 captain and chairman of the airline union's professional standards committee. Dan Pegram is now the president of Contrail Creations LLC, which is dedicated to children's education, literacy, and marketing. Dan resides in Crowley, Texas, with his wife Suzanne. They are the proud parents of daughter Leslie, and sons Brian and Kevin. They have three grandchildren, Bailey, Charlotte, and Kamden.

"Pop-Pop Airplane How Do You Fly?" is a superb children's story! Written by a former pilot, Dan Pegram, he had the notion of teaching kids all about airplanes! His grandchildren helped to inspire the title of his first book as they were growing up. He is Pop-Pop to them, and since they knew he used to fly airplanes, they would point them out and say, "Pop-Pop Airplane!"

I'm always looking for cute, endearing books to share with my children. This book, while being fun and brightly colored, is also super informative! Did you know that airplanes have elevators? I didn't either!

Mr. Pegram shares in simple, yet knowledgable ways all of the main components of an airplane, while Mike Richardson (Mr. Pegram's nephew) illustrated the story beautifully! My three-year-old, Declan, has already had me read this to him a few times, as he thinks it is so super "AWESOME" as he says!

An adorable little airplane teaches children how he actually flies. Some new vocabulary is introduced as children learn a bit about the mechanics of an airplane.I see this book in every airport as a wonderful supplement and teaching tool for parents who travel with their little ones. Makes a nice gift for travelers!

My family traveled quite a bit on planes when I was young, I would have loved this book to help my traveling anxiety. One time I made my father sit on the other side of the plane to balance it out. :-)

One of the most disappointing children's books I have ever bought, and at an outrageous price, to boot. I don't normally submit negative reviews, but this book is essentially content-free; the illustrations are mediocre at best, the rhymes are forced; and (contrary to what some other reviewers seem to think) the book will tell a child virtually nothing about how an airplane works.
