Cami and Isa are very different sisters.

Cami always wants to be perfect. She worries about it every single day! She follows all the rules, does all her homework on time, and never makes a fuss.

Isa, on the other hand, is confident everything she does is perfect, even when it’s most definitely not. Her drawing on the wall? Perfect. Her bowling ball bouncing into the other lane? Perfect-er.

When the two sisters face their own challenges at the first day of basketball camp, they realize there’s a lot they can teach each other. Featuring charming and humorous illustrations,
The Perfect One shares gentle messaging about the importance of patience, practice, and supporting your siblings.

The perfect book for kids struggling with perfectionism, or any child that compares themselves to a sibling,
The Perfect One helps children understand there’s no such thing as perfect—just being perfectly true to you.

Great kids book
4 Stars
Great kids book
Oh man. This is perfect for kids. I have three kids who are all so different. (Of course.) There is always that one kid who worries so much more about things. That one who gets a little discouraged when it’s not as easy as it seems. This shows how it’s okay to react differently and not be perfect. But I liked that it showed how you can be there for each other. To help each other see it differently.

I read this with my 5yo daughter who has issues with trying to always be perfect and not make mistakes and she understood the lessons of the book very well. The book is written and laid out in an easy to read manner for a 5yo.

The Perfect One is a riveting exploration of love and obsession, masterfully weaving together themes of identity, sacrifice, and the pursuit of perfection in a relationship. The narrative is gripping, with well-developed characters that are both relatable and complex. The author skillfully navigates the fine line between passion and possession, pushing the reader to question the nature of love itself. The plot is paced perfectly, with twists that are unexpected yet believable, driving home the message that the quest for 'the perfect one' can lead to unforeseen consequences. A thought-provoking read that lingers long after the last page.

This has a great message. There are two sisters who are very different. One is a perfectionist (she will try her best to draw within the lines) and the other is more relaxed and probably too sure of herself (thing her drawing is amazing). They go to a basketball camp and grow through the process.

There are two things that I like best. First, neither extreme is portrayed as a better option. Some might read it that way but both sisters are shown to have strengths and weaknesses with their approaches. The second thing I like is that they are both positively impacting one another through encouragement rather than mocking. It's a good example for kids to follow.

There are resources at the back of the book on the subject of perfectionism. This book seems well-informed on the subject and lays out a good lesson with vivid artwork. I'd happily recommend it.

This book is well made. The paper is nice, thick, quality, and has high gloss. The illustrations are great. We had a little struggle keeping up with which sister was what but in the end the lesson is clear. No one has to be perfect. There's also some helpful tips at the back of the book to help the kids along the way to their own path of not having to be perfect.

The best children's books teach valuable life lessons while also being fun to read. This book checks both of those boxes. My children (boys) enjoy the story enough to have read it multiple times. The illustrations are well done, though for some reason we had a hard time keeping track of who was the perfectionist and who was the carefree sister.

I especially think that the section in the rear of the book with Mayo Clinic guidance on how to help children overcome the desire to be perfect is helpful.

This is a really nice book for kids to read. According to my kids, the story involves two sisters, one who is perfect, while the other is not as confident or perfect. It was very entertaining, inspiring and allow the kids to connect with the story. Great book for kids.

This is a cute, simple and short picture book about two sisters. One always does as they should and wants everything to be perfect. The other sort of does things as they want and is okay coloring outside the lines, so to speak, but doesn't put a lot of effort into things either. They go to a basketball camp and learn that it's okay to just have fun but that practice does make perfect too. So they each learn a lesson and it's reiterated at the end of the story that it's perfect just being yourself. It has a nice message and is easy for kids to follow along. The illustrations are really cute and we love the animation style. As a diverse family, we also appreciate the diversity in the book. There's even a child in a wheelchair at the basketball camp. Despite the story featuring two sisters, it's relatable for other genders and family types too. My boy and girl both found correlations to themselves.

This is a good book for any young reader. The pictures are fun and well illustrated. The colors are bright and vibrant. The pages are thicker and have a good glass feel to them making them a bit more durable. Has a good lesson perspective for kids to think about. Would recommend.
