Have you heard of EcoMicro? 💡 It's an innovative microcredit program that enhances sustainability, climate resilience and offers flexible financing to coffee producers in Latin America and the Caribbean. EcoMicro piloted a project to support the Peruvian coffee production chain in collaboration with Perhusa, a business that exports high-quality Peruvian coffee. ☕ Aurelina Domínguez and Evangelisto García, coffee farmers, relied on the "patio drying" method, where coffee be...ans are spread out on cloth under the sun for drying. This method poses challenges, especially in rainforest climates where weather conditions change quickly. 🌧 Now, with drying beds, they can ensure their coffee beans dry under optimal conditions, preserving the quality of the coffee and increasing their income. 🗨 "Now the coffee is better, and it's less work for us. We don't have to constantly pick up the beans from the ground, with chickens and dogs getting in the way," says Aurelina Domínguez.
