In the first six months of its existence, Textiles 2030 has recruited over 92 signatories and affiliates, spanning brands, retailers, re-use and recycling organisations from across the fashion and textiles sector. Textiles 2030 signatories already represent 62% of all clothing put on the market in the UK.
This sector is at a pivotal point in history; businesses understand that things cannot continue as they are, and UK fashion and textiles knows that change needs to happen now to avoid catastrophic climate change. Textiles 2030 commits signatories to halving their carbon footprint; cutting their water consumption by 30% and accelerate and embed a circular economy by the end of this decade.
