An enveloping performance echoing throughout the vast space of St Edmundsbury Cathedral by the multi-award-winning Gabrieli Consort and Players.

Directed by Paul McCreesh, the Gabrieli Consort and Players return to the performance that first made their name over 30 years ago. In this recreation of a 400-year-old Coronation Mass for the grand Basilica di San Marco in Venice, they explore anew the extraordinary musical riches of composers Andrea and Giovanni Gabrieli.

Featuring music by Giovanni and Andrea Gabrieli, Bendinelli, Gussago and Merulo.

The result truly befits a coronation at arguably the artistic peak in the history of Venice. Make sure to set the time aside to hear this wonderful performance – or rather event.
