Climate Pollution Reduction Grants
The Climate Pollution Reduction Grants (CPRG) program provides $5 billion in grants to states, local governments, tribes, and territories to develop and implement ambitious plans for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and other harmful air pollution. Authorized under Section 60114 of the Inflation Reduction Act, this two-phase program provides $250 million for noncompetitive planning grants, and approximately $4.6 billion for competitive implementation grants.

The deadline for the CPRG Implementation Grants General Competition is April 1, 2024, 11:59 p.m. (ET). All applications must be submitted through Grants.gov. If you encounter technical difficulties with Grants.gov, please call 1-800-518-4726 or email support@grants.gov for assistance. Support is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Priority Climate Action Plans (PCAPs), are due April 1, 2024 for Tribes and Territories.
The deadline for the CPRG Implementation Grants Tribes and Territories Competition is May 1, 2024 11:59 p.m. (ET). Any questions about the Tribes and Territories Competition must be submitted to CPRG@epa.gov no later than April 15, 2024.

This program is designed to provide flexible support to states, local governments, tribes, and territories regardless of where they are in their climate planning and implementation process.

Phase 2: Implement
EPA has announced two competitions for $4.6 billion for CPRG implementation grants – a general competition and a competition only for tribes and territories.

Training, Tools and Technical Assistance
EPA provides training and technical resources to support CPRG grantees at the state, municipal, tribal and territorial level.
