About this Seminar

Most health behaviors, such as cigarette smoking or dietary intake, involve tradeoffs between immediate gratification and delayed health consequences. Dr. Stein will review the neurobiological mechanisms that influence how we value delayed consequences, including brain systems involved in executive function and reward processing, and will discuss emerging interventions to target these mechanisms and improve health behavior.
