Welcome to our house!

The year 2020 marked the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment, giving women the right to vote. This project is the culmination of months of hard work by students from Radford University and Virginia Tech, who explored the socio-political and cultural impact of the women’s suffrage movement in the United States. The stories shared here are each student’s own imagining of one specific moment in the life of a historical figure connected to the movement.

We invite you to tour our house to experience the stories of those who reside here. Simply click on a purple-highlighted object to open a door into another time and place. If you are interested in a brief primer on the Women’s Suffrage Movement, start by clicking the dress form with the Votes for Women sash in the sewing room on the second floor.
