Youth Jobs Gap - NEET Dashboards

Our Youth Jobs Gap research investigates the link between education and employment outcomes. Working with the National Institute for Social and Economic Research (NIESR), we analysed the government’s Longitudinal Educational Outcomes (LEO) dataset to uncover the clearest picture yet of employment outcomes for young people.

We’ve now compiled our Youth Jobs Gap findings into two dashboards, making our research tailorable and more easily accessible. Users can filter the contents of the dashboards to suit their needs.

Using the dashboards

  1. A video user guide can be viewed here.
  2. Both dashboards are best viewed on desktops.
  3. In both dashboards, we define disadvantage as being eligible for free school meals (FSM) in Year 11.
  4. In both dashboards, cohort refers to a group of students who all sat their GCSEs in the same year.
  5. In both dashboards, we define qualification level as high (A-level or equivalent), middle (five GCSEs A*-C or equivalent) or low (fewer than five GCSEs). Based on highest qualifications at age 18.
