In the BS in Health Science program, you will also:

Students choose one of the following health science concentrations.
Health Care Administration
Prepares students for graduate programs and for administrative practices, including supervision, strategic planning, change management, policy and fiscal responsibility.
Public Health
Readies students for a graduate program in public health, professional graduate programs or employment in private and government public health agencies and institutions.
Global Health
Prepares students to thrive in a competitive, globalized healthcare setting or graduate programs in public health or global health and professional graduate programs.
Radiography
Prepares students to sit for the licensing exam to be radiography technicians and/or move on to a professional graduate program in healthcare.
Dietetics & Nutrition
With a Nutrition & Dietetics concentration, you can enter a high-demand field in diverse areas of practice like acute, long-term care; community, federal and state programs; food service; policy and public health.

Gabrielle Diaz BS '18 MPH '20
Gabrielle earned her BS in Health Science and Master of Public Health at Sacred Heart University. She is currently a Public Health Educator at Naugatuck Valley Health District. While pursuing her MPH she earned the Michael J. Perlin award from the CT Public Health Association for creating SHU's first vaping awareness campaign.
Evan Jones '18
Evan is currently matriculating in the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine program at the University of New England.
Leah Finch '16
Leah earned her MS in Physician Assistant Studies at the University of St. Joseph and is currently a Physician Assistant at Connecticut Dermatology Group.
Student Planning & Advising
Students are assigned to the Health Science Program academic advisor or a Health Science faculty member for assistance and advice throughout their academic career.
Pioneers in Public Health Scholarship Program
Sacred Heart University is looking to expand the public health workforce by providing scholarship funding to support training in public health. Through generous funding from the Health Resources and Services Administration, this program will provide scholarship support up to $20,000 for eligible students enrolled in the SHU MPH program, the SHU 4+1 BSHS-MPH program, and the SHU BS - Health Science Public Health or BS - Health Sciences Global Health programs. Dual Degree Program Options for Health Science Majors
Sacred Heart University’s dual degree programs provide a defined pathway for incoming freshmen to move seamlessly from an undergraduate to a graduate degree.
While some of our dual degree programs require specific undergraduate majors, others are open to almost all undergraduate disciplines. Apply to a dual degree program as an incoming freshman and you’ll have the opportunity to be admitted directly into the graduate program of your choice at the same time as your admission as an undergraduate student. Students are encouraged to reach out to your admissions counselor to discuss dual degree options.
