Performing Arts Program

No matter what your interests are, we have something for you.

By participating in our performing arts programs, you'll have the opportunity to develop and showcase your talents with students and faculty who share your passion for the arts! Our program brings together students who strive to keep music, theatre, and dance a part of their lives. For those who’d like to take their interest even further, we offer academic programs within the College of Arts & Sciences.

Participation grants and scholarships are available for eligible students. A placement audition/interview is required for all areas. For more information, contact performingarts@sacredheart.edu.

Dedicated Performing Arts Wing

The performing arts wing, located in Sacred Heart's Academic Center, will provide state-of-the-art spaces for our theatre, dance, choral and band cohorts, practice rooms equipped with pianos for ensembles and individuals, a storage unit for band instruments and guard equipment and shops to aid in the creation of costumes, sets and props. The performing arts wing will also include a black box theatre rehearsal space, a band rehearsal room suitable for ensembles of any size, a large choir rehearsal space that can seat over 100 students and three spacious dance studios.

These spaces will be equipped with the latest technology necessary for the arts, including Harlequin sprung sub-flooring and Marley floor covers for the dance studios, as well as all the appropriate tools and machinery to make the sets, props and costumes that comprise a musical or plays mise en scène.

This new wing and the spaces it provides will change the way students learn about the arts and will foster skills and experience that graduates can carry into their professional careers.
