About the Scholarship

The NEBCO African American Brewers Scholarship was established in 2020 by the New England Brewing Co. as a way to help add diversity to the brewing industry. This annual scholarship supports African American students enrolled in the brewing science certificate program, which is housed in the College of Arts & Sciences at Sacred Heart University. Priority consideration is given to Connecticut residents demonstrating financial need.

Scholarship Criteria

To be eligible for consideration, a student must be admitted to the Brewing Science program, of Black or African American race, with priority consideration given to students demonstrating financial need as determined by submission of the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). A Brewing Science certificate program Scholarship Application interest form will be posted to all admitted students in their SHUAward portal under the “My Documents & Messages” tab.
