About

The Jewish Youth Assembly (JYA) is a multi-day conference designed for students aged 15-18. It provides a unique platform for participants to delve into the diverse tapestry of Jewish communities across the globe and engage in meaningful discussions on the most pressing issues confronting Jewish people today. Modeled after the World Jewish Congress's (WJC) structure, JYA equips students with an insider's perspective on the workings of the WJC and provides them with problem-solving skills to address critical issues affecting the global Jewish community. The conference allows students to collaboratively work to represent specific communities, conduct research on their history, learn about the issues the WJC is tackling, and speak directly to represented communities and expert leaders. This interactive experience culminates in crucial reports that serve as the collective voice of Jewish youth across the world in the day-to-day deliberations of the World Jewish Congress.

The World Jewish Congress and BBYO have joined forces in an exciting and strategic partnership aimed at elevating the next generation of Jewish leaders, both in high school and beyond. This dynamic collaboration brings forth an extraordinary initiative: the in-person Jewish Youth Assembly (JYA) experience. JYA was conceived with a clear mission in mind—enhancing the education of high school Jewish student leaders while also introducing them to the broader global Jewish community and the shared challenges we face. This partnership serves as a catalyst to advance JYA's mission.

For 2024, in our launching of this historic partnership together, WJC and BBYO will be offering a select group of students the opportunity to convene in Orlando, Florida, as part of BBYO’s International Convention (IC), to join these important conversations, meet their peers from around the world, and engage in one of the largest gatherings of Jewish high school students. This is the first-ever opportunity to join the Jewish Youth Assembly in person. BBYO IC will take place from February 15-19, 2024.
