Maven Wave Achieves Ninth Google Cloud Specialization, Proving the Firm’s Security Expertise

Google Cloud Recognizes Maven Wave’s Technical Proficiency and Proven Success in Securing Customer Infrastructure and Workflows to Google Cloud Platform

Maven Wave is proud to announce our latest achievement: earning the Security Partner Specialization in the Google Cloud Partner Advantage Program, which brings the firm’s total number of specializations to nine.

Google Cloud Partner - Specialization: Security

As Google Cloud North America Services Partner of the Year for the past two consecutive years and a Google Cloud Premier Partner for the last decade, we have also earned Google Cloud Partner Specializations in these areas: Application Development, Cloud Migration, Work Transformation – Enterprise, Infrastructure, Data Analytics, Location-Based Services, Machine Learning, and Marketing Analytics. Security rounds out the roster with a critical and highly relevant designation that proves Maven Wave’s expertise and success in securing enterprise customer infrastructure and workflows to Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Specializations are awarded through the Google Cloud Partner Advantage Program to partners that have demonstrated technical proficiency and proven success in solutions and service areas. As part of the process to achieve this Specialization, Maven Wave showcased the ability to design, build, migrate, deploy, test, and manage customer security solutions.

“We went all-in on Google Cloud from the beginning and have never looked back,” said Jason Foa, Managing Director, Infrastructure for Maven Wave. “Every year, we continue to boost our GCP expertise, and we’re thrilled to add this Security Specialization during a time when data security is paramount to business health and competitive advantage. In order for enterprises to undergo digital transformation without endangering their employee and customer data, they must work with partners who value security.”

Providing Personalized Healthcare with IoT & Wearables

NYU Langone Health, one of the nation’s premier academic medical centers, partnered with Maven Wave to create a platform that leverages data collected from wearables to provide real-time recommendations. The secure machine learning and AI-powered platform can aggregate demographic data plus FitBit data outlining physical activity, sleep, and diet/nutrition trends to create custom profiles that send personalized notifications to patients.

Data security is critical to this project to maintain regulatory compliance; Maven Wave built the environment with HIPAA security in mind. Maven Wave is using Google Cloud Composer for workflow orchestration. Raw FitBit biometric data is pushed to Google Cloud Storage (GCS), where it is correlated and warehoused with patient profile data and historical data. This HIPAA-sensitive data is housed in a secure environment, configured per best practices for network and identity management, to protect customer information.

This platform:

  • Enables the NYU Langone team to mitigate the burden of chronic diseases
  • Allows physicians to advise patients remotely, providing automated health recommendations based on actual data
  • Allows physicians to work more efficiently and provide specialized care to patients who may not otherwise get it, especially in underserved populations

Uncovering Clinical Insights from Healthcare Data

Rush University Medical Center, one of the top academic medical centers in the U.S., had 10 years of medical data – both structured and unstructured – that was logged and kept in multiple places, including electronic medical records (EMR). Rush partnered with Maven Wave to build a HIPAA-compliant home for this data in GCP.

Together with Google Cloud, Maven Wave engineered a solution to map unstructured data in the medical center’s EMR system to structured insights (SNOMED codes). Applying natural language processing (NLP), machine learning (ML), and other technologies, this initiative helps to administer cancer screenings for at-risk patients for early detection, ensure all pre-surgical physicals are performed, enhance clinical documentation, and more

This solution:

  • Allows Rush to increase both internal and external collaboration
  • Enables an intuitive user experience for note search and analysis
  • Enables scalable compute to empower fast data science on a large number of notes
  • Powers a single source of truth (via a searchable repository for all processed structured and unstructured data)
  • Provides cost-effective storage for petabytes of data
