Dr. Francesca DiFroscia enjoys working in emergency medicine as it incorporates all aspects of specialty medicine under a high-pressure situation and requires a team effort and a bond with the supporting staff to achieve the same goal, the well-being and advocacy for her patients’ health. Dr. DiFroscia is most interested in dermatology as these cases can be frustrating to manage, but she finds it highly rewarding when a pet responds to treatment and feels much better.

Dr. DiFroscia enjoys spending time outdoors exploring with her dog, Barnes, and cuddling up with her three cats, Moe, Marvin and Chunky.

Dr. John Farrelly stays active in his field as a professional journal editor and manuscript reviewer. He has chaired therapy groups, reviewed certification exams, instructed at Cornell University and, as a consultant, provided biostatistics services for veterinarians. Although there are a number of tumors that are challenging to treat, Dr. Farrelly finds nasal tumors fascinating because they are surrounded by critical structures, like the eyes and brain. In the past, treatment of these tumors often came with devastating side effects, but he has been able to watch and work with advances in technology, allowing for more rewarding treatment of these patients.

Married to his high school sweetheart, Dr. Farrelly and his wife have four children. The family enjoys sports, like skiing and snowboarding, and music. When time allows, Dr. Farrelly even plays the bagpipes. The four-legged members of the family include Kissy Murphy, a fun-loving mutt and Jasper, the cat, who runs the house.

Dr. Jeffrey Ganus is especially interested in cardiac and respiratory emergencies; metabolic and endocrine diseases; and immune-mediated diseases such as immune-mediated hemolytic anemia and immune-mediated thrombocytopenia.

Dr. Ganus enjoys snowboarding, skiing, biking, tennis, hiking and hanging out in Central Park. Passionate about food and music, Dr. Ganus named his English bulldog, Monk, after the jazz pianist Thelonious Monk.

Dr. Greenberg has a special interest in surgical oncology and reconstructive surgery. His orthopedic interests include fracture repair with internal fixation and cranial cruciate ligament stabilization techniques.

Away from the hospital, Dr. Wiley enjoys swimming, yoga and horseback riding with Jordan, her Arabian Morgan mare. She admits to really loving cats, and even crotchets sweaters for her three: Billie Jean and Beanface are both Devon rex, and Oksana Baiul is a Cornish rex. Genny is her Portuguese water dog who goes everywhere with her.

In addition to being an emergency clinician, Dr. David Wohlstadter is a certified canine rehabilitation therapist. This therapy has been shown to improve dogs’ mobility and strength, particularly for geriatric dogs suffering from arthritic conditions and other musculoskeletal and neurologic conditions. Rehab is also particularly helpful after surgery for all ages to help dogs regain muscle mass and coordination.
