High-voltage accessories in hybrid and electric industrial and commercial vehicles play an important role. Whether it’s HVAC, heater, hydraulic pumps, or electronic power steering, they are ensuring that the vehicle runs properly, safely, and reliably while providing a degree of comfort to the end-user. The design of your electric vehicle subsystem must also run safely and reliably for a long time regardless of operating conditions. Debris, sand, moisture, vibrations – the subsystem must stand up to it and so must their connections.
Part of our HIVONEX portfolio, our HVA HD400 high-voltage connectors are IP68 and IP6K9K rated and have been designed to withstand transmission-level vibrations. Their Contact Position Assurance (CPA) ensures a secured contact between the female and male connector already during the mating process. These features enable our HVA HD400 high-voltage connectors to perform reliably in the most extreme of environments.
Our HVA HD400 connectors feature an integrated HVIL function. This additional security element protects anyone who might be in contact with high-voltage components of electric vehicles. The High Voltage Interlock function uses a low-voltage loop to monitor the integrity of the high-voltage circuit, in case of a damaged, loose, or disconnected high-voltage component the HVIL will send an alert.
They can handle up to 1000 VDC, and 60 A (at 80°C) and have an operating temperature of -40°C to 140°C. Compact and adaptable, their design allows for either 2 or 3 conductors in the same interface, handling 2.5, 4, and 6 mm² LV216 conductor cross-sections single-core cabling (multi-core and ISO cabling on the way).
