Beau Lawler concluded his first season in Oxford, managing a Rebel defense which made great strides throughout the 2020-21 campaign.

Ole Miss tied a match-high record with 18.0 total blocks in the 3-2 victory over LSU. The Rebel defense was highlighted in the match by freshman Sasha Ratliff, who accounted for half of the team’s total rejections with 9.0.

Lawler and the Rebel defense accounted for five matches with 10 plus blocks, as Aubrey Sultemeier led Ole Miss with a total of 57.0 blocks on the year.

Prior to Ole Miss, Lawler spent the 2019 season as the program’s first-ever full-time video coordinator with Nebraska, handling all aspects of coordinating game film and other day-to-day needs of the program as an assistant director of operations. Lawler coordinated all statistical analysis for the Huskers and opponents while also assisting in scouting and game-plan preparation.

In his lone season in Lincoln, Lawler helped guide the Huskers to a 28-5 campaign and an appearance in the NCAA Regional Final, where the squad finished ranked No. 5 in the AVCA Coaches’ Poll.

Prior to joining Nebraska, Lawler was an assistant coach at Idaho State in 2018 and helped guided the Bengals to their best finish in the Big Sky Conference since 2015. He was in charge of middle blockers, liberos, and team defense. Under his leadership, both starting middle blockers were dubbed with All-Conference recognition and ranked in to the Top 5 in the BSC for blocks and junior Kaylie Heck was named Big Sky Libero of the Year.

An Agoura Hills, Calif., native, Lawler spent three seasons on staff at Utah, beginning as a video and statistics coordinator and then rising to technical director/director of operations. In his final year with the Utes, Utah has their most successful season to date in 2017, finishing fourth in the Pac-12 and appearing in the NCAA Tournament for the third time in program history.

While in Utah, Lawler also coached with Club V Volleyball, serving as head coach and assistant coach that helped send 14 players to collegiate programs. He also served as Club Director and COO during his time at Club V, overseeing the club’s master coaching and development training programs.

Lawler has been an assistant coach for the U.S. Deaf National Team since January of 2019, and has experience with Team USA, providing statistical analysis at the team’s open tryouts from 2016-2018.

Lawler is a graduate of Palomar College in San Marcos, Calif., where he played soccer for two seasons.
