COVID-19 Fan Policies
The GLVC Council of Presidents amended the spectator policy and left the decision to each individual institution. Beginning February 26, McKendree will allow limited spectators at all outdoor home competitions. Fans must adhere to strict COVID-19 rules and expectations. All spectators must correctly and consistently wear a mask that completely covers your nose and mouth and are required to wear it for the duration and until they’ve left the premises. Spectators must stay with in designated viewing areas at each complex. Fans are not permitted to interact with Tier 1 individuals (coaches, student-athletes) All fans are asked to be mindful of physical distancing and maintain at least six feet between themselves and other individual groups. If you have experienced a fever or COVID symptoms in the past 48 hours please stay home.
*AT THIS TIME THERE IS NO TAILGATING ALLOWED ON THE MCKENDREE CAMPUS FOR HOME EVENTS*
Each sport and facility will have its own set of COVID-19 policies. They are listed below.
Hypes Field (Baseball)
- Spectators will be allowed. Masking and social distancing guidelines will be enforced.There is no set capacity and admission will not be charged.
- Capacity will be continuously monitored with social distancing considerations taken into account.
- Fans are highly encouraged to bring folding chairs and distance throughout the outfield and foul territory. Bleacher seating will be very limited.
Bearcat Field (Softball)
- Spectators will be allowed down the left field bleachers and on the hill overlooking the outfield.
- Masking and social distancing will be enforced.There is no set capacity and admission will not be charged. Capacity will be continuously monitored with social distancing considerations taken into account.
- Fans are highly encouraged to bring folding chairs and distance throughout the outfield and foul territory. Bleacher seating will be very limited.
Leemon Field (Football)
- McKendree student-athletes will have the ability to include four people on the pass list for entry into Leemon Field. Names for the pass list must be submitted at least 24 hours before the competition. There will also be no tailgating allowed. No visiting fans will be allowed to attend.
- The capacity at Leemon Field will be reduced and admission will not be charged. Capacity will be continuously monitored with social distancing considerations taken into account.
Leemon Field (Men's and Women's Soccer, Lacrosse, Men's and Women's Rugby)
- Spectators will be allowed to sit in the bleachers at Leemon Field but must be masked and social distancing will be enforced.
- The capacity at Leemon Field will be reduced to 1,000 and admission will not be charged. Capacity will be continuously monitored with social distancing considerations taken into account.
Harry M. Statham Sports Center (Men's and Women's Volleyball, Men's and Women's Wrestling, Men's and Women's Basketball)
- All events inside the Harry S. Statham Sports Center will still not permit fans due to the GLVC policies..
The GLVC Sports Network (glvcsn.com) will continue to offer a free stream for nearly all home events this spring.
