This #InfrastructureWeek, we’re taking a look at how Austin, Texas, is preparing its local workforce to meet the demands of current and future infrastructure projects. Workforce development programs like the recently-approved Austin Infrastructure Academy will help shape the future of Austin’s engineering and construction sectors while creating a strong talent pipeline for projects like the I-35 expansion, Project Connect and the ambitious 20-year master plan for Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. 🏙 In establishing the Academy, the city is pioneering a recruitment and training network unlike any other. Students will receive training for lucrative career pathways while simultaneously bolstering the city's manpower to implement more infrastructure improvements. Get the full scoop on the Academy from STV’s Eric J. Ploch 👇

STV’s design of a rehabilitated, 175-year-old bridge in Massachusetts was recognized with the Bronze Award from American Council of Engineering Companies of Massachusetts (ACEC/MA)! 🏆 A vital connection for MassDOT, the bridge increases passenger service along the Connecticut River Mainline corridor. Over 3 months, STV developed the rehabilitated design to accommodate the project’s accelerated construction schedule - the bridge is only permitted to be closed for one, 72-hour period per year.
