Atlanta, US / London, UK / Madrid, Spain:
IriusRisk, the threat modeling platform for application security, has announced the appointment of Fraser Scott as Vice President of Product Development. Fraser joins IriusRisk at a time of extensive market growth to lead strategic leadership and direction of the platform’s development.

Previously Senior Manager of Enterprise Threat Modeling at Capital One, Fraser brings his wealth of experience in DevOps and Cloud Security along with extensive success working with development teams to help them understand and realise both the need and value of threat modeling.

When asked about his vision for IriusRisk, Fraser commented:

“I’m delighted to have joined IriusRisk at such an exciting time in its growth. Having spent a large part of my career in DevOps and Cloud, I understand the challenges and opportunities that come from shifting security left. It is critical that organisations continue to evolve their approach to cybersecurity, and a large part of that is how developers and engineers think about security. I want to help these teams build awesome products – secure products – and this requires thinking about security throughout design and development. Ultimately, this requires threat modeling.”

Fraser will apply his knowledge and understanding to inform design decisions of the IriusRisk platform as the company makes advances towards becoming more developer-focused and promotes adoption beyond security teams.

“IriusRisk already does a fantastic job with the heavy-lifting of threat modeling through automation, and my job will be to ensure the product continues to deliver tangible value to customers as they put threat modeling into the hands of their development and security teams..” Fraser explained.

Fraser will work alongside Stephen de Vries – CEO, Paul Santapau – CTO, and collaborate closely with the Technical Advisory Board, led by recently appointed Dr. Gary McGraw as chair, accompanied by Adam Shostack.

Stephen de Vries, CEO, commented: “Threat modeling and secure design are becoming mainstream practices and the challenge our customers face is scaling this activity out to the wider engineering organisation. Fraser’s work with OWASP, ThreatSpec, his experience in implementing threat modeling at scale and his passion for great product design will be transformative for our customers. We are tremendously excited to have him onboard.”
