For decades, the USGBC has shown that any building with the right planning, decision making, and investment can become a high-performing green building. AMLI Fountain Place exemplifies this by achieving LEED Gold while adding an architecturally significant project to the Dallas skyline.

Impact/Equality

AMLI is committed to being a good neighbor through robust community support. Members of the on-site team have worked with Allstar’s Dallas Division to bring professional opportunities to underserved youth in West and South Dallas. As an example, this month AMLI Fountain Place will be hosting a “Prepare for Profession” workshop. The team has also partnered with the Dallas Innovation Alliance, Klyde Warren Park, Dallas Symphony, ATT Performing Arts Center, and Downtown Dallas Inc. to assist the thriving Downtown and Arts District with promotion events and finding volunteers. Currently they are partnering with Downtown Dallas Inc. to collect water for the homeless.

Design

Next door to AMLI Fountain Place sits “Fountain Place” the fifth tallest building in Dallas. This building was designed by preeminent architects I.M. Pei and Harry Cobb and constructed in 1986. I.M. Pei and Associates originally planned for a 2nd tower next door, but the plans did not get off the ground. Over 30 years later, AMLI Fountain Place made this vision a reality by building a 45-story multifamily building with the same visual aesthetic as Fountain Place. The community includes spectacular views and outstanding amenities such as beautifully landscaped terraces, a rooftop pool, a maker space, a golf simulator, and wellness facilities. Together they create two distinct skyscrapers in the Dallas Arts District and strengthen the city’s skyline.

Sustainability

AMLI Fountain Place is certified at LEED® Gold which reflects the community’s reduced environmental impact and healthy homes. Fountain Place provides ENERGY STAR® appliances, outside air ventilation, electric vehicle charging stations, community recycling, and an on-site bike storage and repair shop. Building on this strong sustainability foundation, AMLI Fountain Place ensures incredibly low greenhouse gas emissions through a Green-e® certified Renewable Energy Credits (REC) purchasing agreement with Green Mountain Energy. This agreement drastically reduces the building’s carbon footprint and powers all electricity, including the electricity used by residents, with wind energy.

Health and Wellness

The quality of the homes at AMLI Fountain Place and AMLI’s commitment to excellent customer service significantly improves residents’ wellbeing. AMLI Fountain Place residents are so happy with this community that they reported an average 4.9 out of 5 for overall satisfaction. Several of the LEED features also result in healthier homes. The upgraded ventilation system in conjunction with low-emitting paints and flooring will make the air quality at AMLI Fountain Place better for residents. AMLI Fountain Place also goes beyond LEED requirements to create a foundation for health and wellness. The 24/7 fitness gym will provide access for structured workouts to all residents regardless of their schedule. There are also training studios and an open-air yoga deck. The bike storage facility builds on this further and helps encourage cycling throughout the community.
