We all know someone with exceptional talent in the performing arts. Finally there's a nonprofit organization dedicated to nurturing and empowering these gifted students - putting them on a solid trajectory to a professional career.

IP Philosophy

Our lives and the problems that confront us are very complicated (mental illness, hunger, global warming, drug addiction, homelessness and racism to name a few). At Intellectual-Philanthropy.Org we believe that being a responsible member of the global media community requires us to not only entertain audiences, but to approach development of future projects with a definite moral compass. We believe that this approach will contribute to a kinder and more informed world. Intellectual-Philanthropy.Org will always be dedicated to these principles in our selection of projects for development, mentors and mentees. All donations will be used towards these goals and philosophies.

our mission

Intellectual Philanthropy (IP) is a nonprofit organization that provides much-needed support for an underserved community of artists who represent the best and brightest next generation of storytellers.

The Problem

Performing arts students and graduates (future writers, directors and composers), many who are from underrepresented communities, will find it extremely difficult to launch their professional careers. Burdened with debt and having little or no guidance in the professional world, taking the next steps can seem impossible.

The Solution

IP will provide collaborative workspaces in Los Angeles and New York City where graduate students of the Arts can develop mentor/mentee relationships with successful professional working artists in their field. There will be a ‘show business’ boot camp of sorts. Upon arrival, mentees will be thrown in the deep end of the pool where they will be immersed on the set of a weekly variety sketch show working side by side with mentors who are seasoned writers and directors. Just imagine being thrust into a community of like minded professional artists. The value is incalculable.

Why Now?

Due to decades of government funding cuts to the Arts, this kind of safe collaborative environment is almost nonexistent. Today in this “every man for himself” online world, IP will provide the exact type of environment a young artist needs to flourish, working with other like-minded creative minds. Like the old Hollywood studios there will always be something exciting going on at the workspaces triggering imaginative thoughts and projects.
