Biography

Arthur E. Stillman, MD, PhD, FACR, FAHA, is the William & Kay Casarella Professor in the Division of Cardiothoracic Imaging and the Director of Cardiothoracic Imaging in the Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Stillman is a Distinguished Investigator of the Academy of Radiology Research. He is a past President of the North American Society for Cardiovascular Imaging and past Chair of the Council of Cardiovascular Radiology & Intervention of the American Heart Association. A board certified diagnostic radiologist, Dr. Stillman is recognized as an international leader in cardiovascular imaging and specializes in cardiovascular MRI and CT.

Education

Dr. Stillman received his MD from University of Chicago in Chicago Illinois and his PhD from University of Illinois also in Chicago Illinois.

Research

Dr. Stillman's current research focuses on outcomes and comparative effectiveness for cardiac imaging. He is the Principal Investigator of RESCUE: Randomized Evaluation of Patients with Stable Angina Comparing Utilization of Noninvasive Examinations, which was funded by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. This is a randomized comparative effectiveness trial studying the use of non-invasive imaging for the diagnosis and treatment of coronary artery disease in patients with symptoms of stable angina or angina equivalent.
