The Amundi Evian Championship will be celebrating 10 years as a major in 2023. Eight of the previous nine winners were ranked inside the top 20 of the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings. Sixty-four of the last 80 majors played on the LPGA Tour were won by players ranked inside the top 50 of the Rolex Rankings. Since 2006, five players ranked at No. 1 in the world have won nine major championships. Lydia Ko is the last player ranked No. 1 to win a major at the 2016 Chevron Championship.

Since 2013, Lydia Ko has the best cumulative score to par at 61-under on the Evian Resort Golf Club in Evian-les-Bains, France. She has recorded seven top-10 finishes in nine starts. Ko won this major in 2015 at 16-under with 23 birdies and seven bogeys. She hit 75% of fairways and 86% of greens that led to her making birdie or better 37% of the time. Ko was the first player to record all four rounds in the 60s in 2015.

Sei Young Kim and So Yeon Ryu are participating in this week’s major championship. Both rank second for most top-10 finishes without a win at the Amundi Evian Championship since 2013. Kim finished fifth, tied for sixth and tied for second from 2016-18 and last year finished in a tie for eighth. Ryu finished tied for fourth in 2013, tied for second in 2016, T10 in 2018 and tied for eighth in 2022.

Last year’s champion Brooke Henderson was 17-under with more than seven strokes gained putting on the green. According to KPMG Performance Insights, Henderson ranked fourth in strokes gained tee-to-green (8.14). From 100-125 yards, her average proximity to the hole was 11 feet in seven attempts during tournament play. Her performance ranked seventh in the field.
