Prairie View A&M University Receives $10,000,000 Gift for Financial Aid

Prairie View A&M University is establishing a grant to assist juniors and seniors impacted by the COVID crisis to remain enrolled and graduate on a timely basis. Called Panther Success Grant, these unrestricted funds will be the critical difference in enabling students to continue and complete their studies.

Panther Success Grant FAQs

The Panther Success Initiative Grant is available to juniors and seniors who are making satisfactory progress toward degree completion and are able to graduate within 6 years but whose personal finances or financial aid is insufficient to satisfy remaining college costs owed to the university, associated with completing their education. Panther Success Grants will be available to in-state, out-of-state and international students.

Eligibility criteria approved by the donor:

  • Be a junior or senior, based on hours completed toward degree (60 hours for junior status, 90 hours for senior status).
  • Have started at Prairie View as a first time in college, full-time freshman in fall 2015* or later.
  • Have a minimum of 60 hours toward their degree at the time of awarding as a junior;
  • Have a minimum of 90 hours toward their degree at the time of awarding as a senior.

*Students who started in the fall of 2015 must be able to graduate by May 2021.

  • Juniors must have completed a minimum of 60 hours that apply toward their degree.
  • Seniors must have completed a minimum of 90 hours that apply toward their degree.

There is no application for the Panther Success Grant. Eligibility determined by your progress toward degree and the balance owed to the University. If eligible and funds are available, the grant will be automatically applied to your account prior to the end of each semester until funds are exhausted.

Eligible students may receive up to $2,000 per semester (for a maximum total of $4,000 per academic year).

You will receive a communication from the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships if selected to receive the Panther Success Grant.

Funds will be applied directly to your student account.

Every student making satisfactory progress toward degree completion as defined and meeting all eligibility requirements is eligible for consideration each semester until all funds are exhausted.
