Thornybush Game Reserve Shumbalala Game Lodge It’s a vast, wild place where the lions roam at Shumbalala Game Lodge, the lions roam deep in the Thornybush Game Reserve, one of the country’s great tracts of untamed game-viewing. Your luxury lodge is situated on the banks of the Monwana River. Two game drives are conducted at the best suited times of the day to maximize the number of sightings. A typical day starts with an early morning game drive directly after morning coffee. The adventure continues as you return back to camp to freshen up before a sumptuous brunch. There is time for a bush walk, relaxation by the pool, in the library or on the deck enjoying the sights and sounds or enjoy some bird watching. Following afternoon high tea the game drive continues into the night with a stop in the bush for sundowners to mark the splendor of the sunset over the mountains. The game viewing at night offers the opportunity to view the nocturnal animals including the possibility of lions out on the prowl.

Cape Town & Depart Home Cape Grace Fly to Cape Town. Take a city tour to see Government Avenue, the National Gallery, the South Africa Museum, Houses of Parliament, and the City Hall. Ride a cable car up to Table Mountain and witness the majestic views of Table Bay, Robben Island, the Atlantic Seaboard, and most of the Cape Peninsula. Head through the suburbs of Sea Point, Clifton, and Camps Bay before continuing to the fishing harbor of Hout Bay. Wander Chapman’s Peak and the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. Ride the funicular to the lighthouse to see the convergence of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. Visit Boulders Beach to see the African penguins, the naval base at Simonstown, and the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden. Enjoy the Cape Winelands region’s famous wine estates and partake in tasting the local vintages. Visit the villages of Paarl, Franschhoek, and Stellenbosch. Transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
