Wolf signed an order on May 7 pausing evictions, but with that moratorium ending July 10, Bucks County director of housing and community development Jeff Fields said generally there is a requirement of 10 days notice before an eviction goes before a magisterial district judge.
"If you do work out something, you would want to try to put it in writing so both parties have that officially signed and written down," he advised.
If that's not an option, Fields suggested calling the Bucks County Housing Link at 800-810-4434.
"We have staff that will complete a brief screening and then refer you to one of our Bucks County nonprofits that specializes in eviction prevention counseling and resources that can help you stay in your home," he recommended.
Fields said they've seen about a 10% increase in reports of homelessness during the pandemic and they are preparing for an increased need for help when services such as unemployment benefits end.
