Tim Dunn Series - Part 4: Fatherhood

Tim Dunn Series - Part 4: Fatherhood

What do you do when your child shows you conditional love as a way of pushing back against parental authority? How do you raise up a child in the Lord who is rebelling every step of the way?

In the fourth part of the Tim Dunn Series, Tim and Ken discuss fatherhood and showing your children unconditional love. Tim explains something that he believes to be a key to child-rearing: Unconditional acceptance but not unconditional approval.

“If you try to control your children, you're going to disable the kid or chase them away. We need to recognize the reality that God gave our children the power to make their own choices. Do your best to train them on how to make good choices. Then they have a chance to do well, but they might not. That's their choice, not yours.” - Tim Dunn

Tim Dunn is the co-founder and CEO of CrownQuest Operating. He is also the author of Yellow Balloons: Power for Living Life Above the Circumstances. In addition to his writing and business accolades, Tim co-founded Midland Classical Academy in 1998, a non-profit, K-12 learning institution.

Tim Dunn Series - Part 3: Money and Stewardship

Tim Dunn Series - Part 3: Money and Stewardship

If we all decided to give all of our money away at the same time, what would happen?

It would be a game of hot potato: one man giving his money away to another who would give it away to the next, and on and on. We are not called necessarily to give away all of our money, we are called to steward it! How are you stewarding yours?

In the third part of the Tim Dunn Series, Tim and Ken discuss how God has called us to be shrewd stewards and great investors of the gifts we have been given.

“I think the way to handle money is to always deed it over to Christ. So everyone should give away all their money, but that doesn't mean you stop stewarding the money.” - Tim Dunn

“You have to decide how to steward your money. You don't have to worry about losing the money, it wasn't yours in the first place. So don't have anxiety about it, but I do think in terms of, ‘OK, what is my best stewardship of this?’” - Tim Dunn

Tim Dunn Series - Part 2: What Determines Success?

Tim Dunn Series - Part 2: What Determines Success?

What exactly defines success? Your income? The size of your home? The value of your 401k? While all of these things may be a side effect of living a successful life, they do not define it.

In the second part of the Tim Dunn Series, Tim and Ken discuss work ethic, mindset, and mentality and how they relate to and determine success.

“The main thing a great leader does in any organization is they focus on building structures. Structure determines behavior and is anything that is a series of obstacles that creates a path of least resistance. Make a plan and hold it with open hands. Say ‘if the Lord wills, I am going to do this…’” - Tim Dunn

“And people tend to say, you're successful because you have a certain amount of worth, value, or income, but all that can be gone tomorrow… Success is really taking the right approach to life.” - Tim Dunn

Tim Dunn Part 1: Can We Control Our Salvation?

Tim Dunn Part 1: Can We Control Our Salvation?

When we are “saved”, what are we being delivered from and what are we being delivered to? This is one of the many topics discussed by Ken Harrison with his guest Tim Dunn.

In this episode, Tim and Ken discuss the assurance of our salvation that we have through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and the life we are called to lead as believers.

“God says you can learn one or two ways: ‘You can trust me that I know what's best for you or you or you can experience it for yourself.’ Well, if you experience it for yourself, you can get a lot of mess and dirt.” - Tim Dunn

“We either learn obedience to death on the cross like Jesus did and get that same reward with him. Or we cannot, and we lose that reward. So we're constantly being delivered.” - Tim Dunn

“In today's society, when you see boldness in believers standing up and taking action—standing on what they know to be true. The grace of God is igniting inside of them to give them that confidence, no matter what their peers are thinking, no matter what their bosses are thinking, no matter what mainstream society is trying to tell them. And we need that today.” - Demario Davis

“I really started to examine my life a little bit and realize that my life wasn't going a direction I wanted it to go and something needed to change… I came to Christ and the scales were removed from my eyes… And so I just had a passion to go and share the gospel in my locker room and beyond.” - Demario Davis
