[September 08, 2021] USRowing eliminates Youth Lightweight events for their regattas effective immediately.  Announcement here

ORRA will still offer the same slate of Youth Ltwt events as posted on the schedule. This may be the last year we offer it and will be on the HONOR system only and NO Weigh Ins.

ORRA will broaden our U15 events to include 8+, 4+, 4X and 4+. These will be the full 4702m course. No specific accommodation will be given the U15 crews so they must be capable of proper boat handling and rowing the full race course.

Row for the CureOctober is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Please help us improve the lives of the more than 168,000 women and men living with metastatic breast cancer in the United States. ORRA and the Secret City Head Race are proud to again partner with Row For The Cure to support this cause.

Help us PINK OUT The Secret City Head Race, with the Saturday Mixed Masters 8+, Women's Masters 4+ and Women's Youth 8+ designated as Row for the Cure events.  Colorful athletic wear will be available for advance purchase. All proceeds from these events will be donated by Oak Ridge Rowing Association to this wonderful cause. Start planning your line-ups!

Overview

The race features our traditional downstream course on Saturday and our throwback upstream course on Sunday. Both courses are 4702m to offer a full Head of the Charles prep time trial.

Events offered on both days to allow coaches and athletes a wide variety of options to enter multiple events and multiple boatings.

Racing at The Head Of The Charles? Come get a challenging run down our courses as a final race prep before you leave for Boston!

ORRA looks to provide ample opportunities to race in events both Saturday and Sunday. However, due to Sunday being a shorter race day not all events will be offered. The order of races are hard to change so please use your line-up and entry skills and experience to plan accordingly.

Are you an accomplished paddler? ORRA has added kayak, canoe and SUP events to our Sunday lineup. These events will be an out and back race with a mass start the the "finish" line, proceed downstream to the turning point and race back to the "finish.".  Competitors in this event should be comfortable with the mass start and distance. Paddlers will sign a separate waiver as part of their on-site registration. Rowers are encouraged to hang out and watch this version of paddle sports. Fastest competitors in kayaks will be similar to 1x times.
