GLVC Piloting Pay-Per-View Model on GLVCSN for Basketball Championship Tournaments

INDIANAPOLIS – The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC), in partnership with BlueFrame Technology, announced Wednesday (Feb. 23) after a vote of approval by the GLVC Athletics Directors, that it will pilot a pay-per-view pass system for the 2022 GLVC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championship Tournaments. All games will be available for purchase, including the first round on Feb. 28 at campus sites and the quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals on March 3-6 in Edwardsville, Ill., at First Community Arena.

“The GLVC has partnered with BlueFrame Technology since the inception of the GLVC Sports Network (GLVCSN) in 2014. We are piloting a pay-per-view initiative for the 2022 GLVC Basketball Championship Tournament to determine if this should be the next step in the evolution of streaming for either regular season or Conference Championship events in the future,” said GLVC Commissioner Jim Naumovich. “This program will provide us with valuable data related to viewership numbers and generate a new revenue source to help defray the costs of hosting the tournament at a neutral site.”

Individual games can be purchased for $15, while viewers will also have the option to purchase an all-access pass for either the Men’s or Women’s Tournament for $35. Viewers can access the broadcasts via GLVCSN.com, the GLVCSN iOS or Android mobile app, as well as any of the OTT apps on Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, and Android TV. For anyone needing technical assistance throughout the event, they can send an email to support@blueframetech.com.

"The GLVC was the first Division II conference to build a digital network through BlueFrame,” said BlueFrame Director of Sales Josh Braun. "We know the quality of their live production will please the fans, and we are excited to partner with them on a new ‘first’ by introducing this pay-per-view program for the Conference Championships. We can’t wait to see the benefits of this extra revenue to the Conference."

For fans who choose to attend in person, first round tickets can be purchased from the host schools, which will be announced Feb. 26 after the conclusion of the final regular season contests. For anyone wishing to attend the event at SIU Edwardsville, tickets can be purchased online here. All-Tournament passes are $45, while Session Flex Passes are $35, allowing access to any two of the first six sessions, excluding Sunday's finals. Single-session tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for students with a valid ID and youth 6-17 in age, while children ages 5 and under are admitted free of charge when accompanied by an adult.
