"I thought nobody cared about me, but I was wrong, Reveille cares about me. Thank you!".

Derrick, our Success Coach, worked very hard with Allison. From November 17th- 1 December 2020. Allison was at risk for being homeless when she was connected with Reveille. Derrick was able to give her an assessment, work with her on a success plan and realized she had great working experience. Derrick worked on her resume and supported her and Allison was able to get a great job in Pittsburgh, PA. Derrick again assisted with her move, made sure she sent transcripts, paid for those transcripts for her new job, got financial assistance through Reveille to make the move to Pennsylvania, coordinated with her employer and found other resources on the Network with America’s Warrior Partnership to bring more financial assistance so she could save enough money to get on her feet, including Gary Sinise Foundation, who paid her hotel through her second week.

She is now working earning $80,000 a year and doing really well!

“We were trying to find assistance, we looked for celebrities, other foundations and we found Reveille and Laura. We got lucky.”

Husband in the Navy for 20-years and wife with adissabled daughter. Behind in rent, utilities and their car was sent to collections. Laura, their Success Coach worked closely with the couple and went above and beyond searching for resources to improve their situation. Laura worked with APS utility assistance, the SSVF housing program and transportation support. Laura found Progressive’s Keys to Progress, a vehicle giveaway for veterans promotion and walked the couple through the application and made sure it was submitted on time. Case Director Seaun also worked with the DAV and America’s Warrior Partnership to see if there were resources to assist. Incredibly they WON! Todd & Toni won a new car and were able to wipe away $20,000 in debt! Laura uses creativity and ingenuity to help this couple find success.

In August of 2021, Marie reached out needing help paying for her education. She wanted to change careers and wanted to get her Commercial Driver’s License. She was having trouble with her WIOA grant application and had been working on it for a few months now. Danielle, our Success Coach called our contact at ARIZONA@WORK and walked her through the application and also called our partner at Phoenix Truck Driving Institute and these partners helped her throughout the process. It was an amazing combined effort that got Marie approved for the grant, got her CDL and at 60 years young has a new career driving full time.

Travis is a 32 year old Army veteran putting himself through Massage Therapy School. Travis came to the Reveille Foundation at risk of homlessness and his ability to graduate from school was in doubt. Danielle, his Success Coach worked with Travis to put a Success Plan together which was to find resources to assist his immediate needs while motivating Travis to look at other ways to earn income. Danielle was able to help Travis get on SNAP benefits as well as rental assistance. Travis worked nights and weekends driving for DoorDash and Reveille assisted by paying his car payment. Travis worked hard and found the motivation to finish his internship, stabilize his finances and is now working in his chosen career.

On August 4, 2021, Brian was referred to us the day he was released form a local recovery center with just the clothes on his back and a small bag. He needed a fresh start and was determined to find stable employment so he could get to see his son again. Brian stated, “I am here to heal, make amends, start my career, and do whatever it takes to see my boy again.” He met with Danielle and they immediately began working on building a Success Plan. We were able to move Brian into Reveille transitional housing, provided him with a loaner laptop, some Fry’s gift cards and drove him to the store then our house. Danielle got to work helping him apply for food assistance, proof of residency, gaining a driver’s license and connected him into VA programs. Laura, another Success Coach worked with St. Joseph the Worker received work clothes and drove him to receive a free cell phone with the Lifeline Cell Phone Program. Danielle also helped Brian negotiate a payment plan with his storage facility, wrote a letter of support to the court, and walked him through the application process with our partners at ARIZONA@WORK where he was successful gaining a WIOA grant to get his commercial drivers license through SWIFT Transportation. Not only did Brian graduate at the top of his class but SWIFT asked him to do advanced training to become a mentor. By late November, Brian completed his training and is now working full-time, transitioned out of the Reveille House and now is on his own. Brian’s determination to be closer to his son helped him turn his life around in a little more than 90-days! Update in May, Brain now has visitation rights with his Son.

His help gave me confidence going into the interview, and it went so well that they offered me the job the same day! I would recommend any veteran seek his advice as they transition back to civilian life."
