Smart systems

From future city systems to the Internet of Things (IoT) we are researching how geospatial data can be leveraged by the smart systems of the future.

We research the data requirements and data science techniques necessary for our smart systems. This will underpin everything from our driverless car infrastructure, to smart cities and smart environments.

Geospatial data will underpin inter-related systems across sectors. How will autonomous vehicles communicate with smart buildings to find parking spaces? How could we adapt traffic flow in real time to reduce pollution hot spots?

How can we make sure this data remains secure? At Ordnance Survey (OS) we are researching how new forms of geospatial data can enable and make systems more effective and efficient.
