INDIANAPOLIS — Dolan Williams, a graduate of Purdue University Global’s Concord Law School, will provide the keynote address at two commencement ceremonies for Purdue Global on Feb. 27 at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles.

Williams was working as an online college advisor in 2010 when he decided to make a career change and pursue law school. As the sole provider for his family of six, a traditional path was not feasible, so he chose Concord Law School, the online institution now part of Purdue Global.

“My online learning experience showed me that it’s possible to make the transition in your life to achieve your goals,” said Williams, now an attorney in San Diego. “My message to graduates will be that your efforts have not gone unnoticed, that you’re capable of achieving anything you set your mind to, and that you should be excited about what the future will bring.”

In the fall of 2019, Williams was elected to the Purdue Alumni Association Board of Directors.

“Dolan’s story and experience will surely resonate with our graduates and their guests,” said Betty Vandenbosch, Purdue Global chancellor. “He is the essence of so many of our students – someone in the workplace with dependents who has time and financial limitations. Combine that with his election to the Purdue Alumni board, and he is a wonderful commencement speaker for us.”

Graduates from the schools of Concord Law, business, technology and health sciences will walk during a 3 p.m. PST ceremony, followed by graduates of the schools of education, nursing and social and behavioral sciences at 6 p.m.

Some 400 Purdue Global graduates are expected to take part in the commencement exercises. Among them are 108 California residents and five who live outside of the United States (Bermuda, Canada, Germany, Uganda and Zimbabwe).
