Joe Swensson

As Director of Real Estate Development, Joe focuses on creating new mixed-use, residential, office and industrial development opportunities throughout Colorado. He works on site selection and acquisition, underwriting, due diligence, government approvals, capital raise and coordinates the efforts of the construction, design and development teams.

Joe has been with Opus since June 2016. Prior to joining Opus, Joe spent several years on the U.S. Ski Cross Team and competed in the ESPN Winter X-Games and at the F.I.S. Freestyle Ski Cross World Championships. Joe previously worked for a family development company and was involved in design, planning and site management.

Joe received a Master of Science in real estate and construction management from the University of Denver and a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Middlebury College. He is a member of the NAIOP, the commercial real estate development association; Urban Land Institute (ULI); and Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR). Joe is a NAIOP Colorado Developing Leader, Kelly Brush Foundation Event committee member, ULI Real Estate Diversity Initiative mentor and on the finance committee for the Colorado Coalition For The Homeless.
