English and Other Classes

The primary goal of this program is to offer immigrants English skills so they can improve their ability to advocate for themselves, enhance their education and employment opportunities, help them better provide for their families, pass the Citizenship Exam, and participate in the larger community.

Adult Education Classes

Catholic Charities Education & Workforce Ministry is dedicated to empowering individuals through classes that cultivate essential daily living skills and enhance employability. Our curriculum prioritizes the development of English proficiency through comprehensive instruction in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. To cater to diverse learning needs and to ensure accessibility for all our students, we provide six levels of English language instruction. Alongside our English classes, we offer a citizenship preparation program aimed at equipping our students for successful integration and thriving as U.S. citizens. Additionally, our specialized workforce development courses offer a pathway to personal and professional development by covering a range of topics including Childcare, Computer Literacy, and CompTIA certifications. Catholic Charities Education & Workforce Development prides itself in offering English as a Second Language (ESOL) to adults across the Diocese of Arlington. We offer six different levels both online & in-person across Northern Virginia.

English for Childcare

Our online Childcare Program is an integrated education and training program that increases students’ English language proficiency, while providing workforce preparation activities and training in the field of early childhood education. We offer two levels of Childcare Training. You will also achieve an American Red Cross Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certification.

Computer Literacy

Improve your computer skills and digital know-how with our practical training. Learn Basic Computer Skills, Internet Basics, Email, Windows 10, Google Docs, and Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. By the end, you'll earn a NorthStar Digital Literacy certification. We have two levels of Computer Literacy courses to suit your skill level and help you build a strong foundation in using computers. This course is only offered at Manassas.

CompTIA

Get ready for a promising career in Information Technology (IT) with our dedicated online courses. We offer classes for CompTIA ITF+ and A+ to help you earn globally recognized certifications. These certifications show your expertise in IT and make you stand out in the job market, providing a pathway to various opportunities in the innovative world of technology.

GED Preparation

Designed for individuals to earn their high school equivalency credential, this course covers the four GED subjects: Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and Reasoning Through Language Arts. Our program offers a supportive learning environment, with encouraging teachers that help you along the way. Start now with Reasoning Through Language Arts and begin your journey to new opportunities.

Healthcare Careers Launchpad

Embark on an exciting journey to explore different career paths in healthcare! This course is designed for those considering a career in healthcare, offering a friendly environment to discover various professional options, explore medical terminology, and polish essential computer skills. By the end of the course, you'll not only gain new terminology related to the field but also achieve an American Red Cross Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certification. Join us on this learning adventure! This course is only offered at Manassas.
