Thank you for your interest in our Junior Marine Biologist Summer Camp program! The Oceans of Opportunity scholarship is available for campers ages 6*-17 who are in need of financial assistance to attend the Junior Marine Biologist Summer Camp. Successful recipients will be students who have a passion for ocean conservation and identify with historically excluded groups in STEM including: gender minorities, racial/ethnic minorities, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and people from low income or underserved communities.
The Oceans of Opportunity initiative at Loggerhead Marinelife Center strives to provide equitable education and hands-on learning to underserved or under-represented youth in marine science. In 2022, LMC's
Oceans of Opportunity program funded educational programming for more than 5,000 participants through field trips for Title 1 school students, American Sign Language programming for members of the deaf and hard of hearing community and Spanish-led public programming. If you feel your child qualifies for a camp scholarship, please fill out the application below for each applicable child and include a letter of recommendation from your child’s teacher or guidance counselor.
