Unique Food and Wine Experiences This Fall

Fall is the perfect time to drink incredible wine and indulge in delicious bites at wineries throughout Sonoma County. From paired wine and cheese tastings to picnics with locally made charcuterie and bread, wineries are offering unique experiences this fall in Sonoma County. Branch out of the traditional tasting room experience and embrace the outdoors while enjoying delicious food and wine.

Bricoleur Vineyards 

Newly opened Bricoleur Vineyards offers an array of delightful food and wine pairings at their gorgeous estate in Windsor. Enjoy the Essentials Picnic, serving two people, which includes house-made piadini, estate-grown vegetable salads, house potato chips and estate dip, house-made dessert, and one bottle of 2019 Rosé of Grenache. Reservations are required for this delightful wine country experience.

For a more family friendly evening, join Bricoleur for Pizza Night every other Friday. Each Pizza Night, Chef Shane McAnelly fires up three different options, all using vegetables grown in the estate garden, in the wood-fired pizza oven. Each $65 adult ticket includes one pizza, one salad, and something sweet, along with a welcome glass of Bubbly and a glass of Rosé to enjoy with dinner. One $35 child ticket includes the same food with non-alcoholic beverage.

Vineyard Hike at Jordan Winery

Experience all of the best elements of fall in Sonoma County Wine Country with a vineyard hike at Jordan Winery in the Alexander Valley. Your private, guided hiking journey will weave around the 1,200-acre Jordan Estate with mountain views, wildlife, lakes, and lush vineyards. Chalk Hill Estate, Tastings On The Terrace

Join Chalk Hill Estate on their beautiful terrace overlooking their picturesque vineyards for a 60-minute tasting flight. While the view is worth it alone, Chalk Hill Estate is currently offering some unique tasting experiences. Imagery Estate Winery Lawn Picnic

For a laid-back wine country experience, join Imagery Winery for a socially-distanced Imagery Picnic on their lawn. Each picnic serves two people and includes individual cheese and charcuterie platters, French bread, seasonal fruit, nuts, and pasta salad. In addition, the package includes an Imagery picnic blanket, two picnic-friendly glasses, an Imagery picnic tote, one bottle of Imagery wine, a bottle stopper, and a cheese knife, all to take home after enjoying the picnic. St. Francis Winery

Sip and savor a delectable five-course food and wine pairing at St. Francis Winery and Vineyards. Executive Chef Peter Janiak hand-selects wines from their award-winning wine portfolio to develop a seasonal pairing menu that highlights Sonoma County’s diverse agricultural and culinary traditions. Chateau St. Jean Picnic Experiences

Chateau St. Jean offers a different picnic experience with a build-your-own sandwich picnic. All ingredients come in a reusable picnic basket that is yours to keep. Wine can be purchased, in addition to the picnic basket, and reservations can be made online. Come for the wine, stay for the beautiful property and unique picnic experience.

Paradise Ridge Winery Picnic Basket

Choose a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc or Rosé, take a seat, and celebrate wine country in Paradise. Paradise’s decadent picnic basket celebrates the bounty of Sonoma County, featuring cheese from Valley Ford Cheese & Creamery, charcuterie from Journeyman Meats, bread from Costeaux French Bakery, and local seasoned nuts. Picnic baskets, serving two people, are also available for pickup to enjoy in the comfort of your own home. For picnics at the Russian River Valley Estate, reservations can be made online for one of the three daily timeslots.

Cline Private Cabanas

Enjoy your own private cabana at Cline Cellars in Sonoma with a bottle of bubbles and a basket full of provisions. Cline’s brand new cabanas are situated on their Great Lawn, surround by beautifull-landscaped grounds. Enjoy your own cabana for two hours with a bottle of Nancy’s Sparkling Cuvee and a basket of chees, crackers, salami, and more. A private host is available for additional bottle purchases. Region Winery of the Week

Visit Region, a new addition to The Barlow in Sebastopol. Featuring more than 50 wines on tap from small lot production wineries, Region is a unique tasting room like no other with self-serving WineStation machines. Enjoy your wine of choice and order fresh sandwiches from Farmers Wife on their patio, or order from other nearby restaurants at The Barlow. Region hosts a rotating Winery of the Week, where guests can meet the producer and winemaker of one of their 25 winery partners. Winemakers often pair their wines with small bites for guests to enjoy.
