In a time of meditative need, the ethereal Icelandic cellist, singer, and composer Gyða Valtysdóttir presents a new project of introspective ambient music. Partnering with Jónsi (Sigur Rós) to produce and mix the album, the single “Evol Lamina” was created out of vocal and cello improvisations.
Flaunt is pleased to premiere the “Evol Lamina” music video, an experimental prayer which showcases a fluidity of boundaries, compounded by Valtysdóttir’s poetic gestures of movement, featuring a costume created by designer [Rui Zhou](https://flaunt.com/content/qampa-rui-zhou-fw20?rq=Rui%20Zhou).
The full album, _Epicycle II_, will be released later this summer on August 28th. The title, _Epicycle II_, refers to the geometric model of the solar system developed by the Ancient Greek mathematician and astronomer Ptolemy, and heavy hitters are featured, such as Ólöf Arnalds.
