Responsibilities: Rogers, D.O., CAQSM, FAAFP, FAOASM, is the chief medical officer at Virginia Tech where he oversees the school’s care administration and delivery.
 
Joined VT Staff: July, 2006
 
Prior to Virginia Tech: Rogers came to Southwest Virginia as a fellow at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine—Virginia Campus (VCOM) and Virginia Tech. He previously completed his family medicine residency training at the University of North Carolina where he was selected chief resident. He’s currently a full professor in the Departments of Family Medicine and Osteopathic Medicine, the Chair of the Discipline of Sports Medicine at VCOM, and is the Director of the Primary Care Sports Medicine fellowship. He serves as a team physician for Virginia Tech, the Pulaski River Turtles, USA Baseball affiliate, and is involved with Virginia Tech Sport Clubs and several local high schools.  
 
Education: UNC Charlotte, Bachelors of Arts, Chemistry in 1996; Duquesne University, Masters of Arts, Health Care Ethics in 1999; Des Moines University Osteopathic Medical Center, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) in 2003; UNC-Chapel Hill, Family Medicine in 2006; VCOM/Virginia Tech, Sports Medicine in 2007.
 
Family: Rogers lives in Blacksburg with his wife, Krista, and two children, Connor and Keagan.
