Pilar Pérez joined ESPN Deportes in 2016 as co-host of Nación ESPN. Since joining, Pérez has become one of ESPN’s most versatile Spanish-language reporters, having covered multiple Super Bowls, NBA Finals, MLS Finals, among others major events. She regularly contributes on Jorge Ramos y su Banda and SportsCenter.

Pérez was one of the first ESPN Deportes reporters on the ground to report on the MLS is Back Tournament from temporary Florida campus after the league’s decision to resume the season after a hiatus due to the outbreak of COVID-19. She was also one of the network’s on the ground reporters throughout the outbreak covering The US Open and Super Bowl LV.

In 2021, Pérez won a Sports Emmy in the On-Air Personality in Spanish category, becoming the first woman on Spanish-language television to receive the award.

Born in Culiacán, Mexico, Pérez lived most of her life in León, Guanajuato in Mexico. She later moved to Mexico City where her career in sports media began in 2009 when she joined Fox Sports, serving as sports commentator and host for a variety of shows.
