Back in the summer of 2017, Dreamville duo EarthGang came through the P&P office and laid out an ambitious plan to consistently release music in the lead-up to their next album. "It's a part of this three-part EP series," they said at the time. "Rags, Robots, and Royalty. All these things are the train stops to Mirrorland, which is our album coming out whenever the fuck we put it out."

Six months later, the third EP in that series has arrived: Royalty. With a couple features from Ari Lennox and Mereba, the project builds on the Atlanta duo's organic, jazzy sounds and sharp lyricism.

In a recent interview with Consequence of Sound, they explained how Royalty compares with the two EPs that came before. Venus said, "It's really a culmination of the two. This is us going up to the launching pad before we head off into this other world that we intend to take you into. It’s like being on the plane before you take off — the anticipation, the anxiety and restlessness, whatever you feel. It’s like let’s get there, let’s do this. This project really is us sitting in that space ready to free yourself from whatever is going on around you."

Stream Royalty below and look out for Mirrorland later this year.
